Macabre Header

No we don't need a new head, we have a few rolling around in the projection booth. What we need here at the Macabre is a cool ghoulish header.
Can any of you wonderful Macabreites have the skill to make one for us? or know of anyone who can?
Our readership is small here and but i hope someone can help.
I'd like to use the pic to the right of the abandoned drive-in or any creepy old drive-in will do, maybe some blood dripping red letters saying Macabre Drive-In Theater.
Thankyou!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

Are you like me and Frankenstein's Monster, we just can't wait for Halloween and all the fun and thrills of the best holiday on the planet?
Stock up on Monster DVDs and candy, we're celebrating all month long!

Spooky Movie News

Hollyweird has never met a sequel or remake it didn't love.
Scream 4 seems to be a go for a April/May target shooting date. Never Campbell,Courtney Cox and Mr Courtney Cox aka David Arquette have signed on and Wes Craven is being inticed to return and direct.
Halloween 3D (oh please can we kill this latest 3D revival now?) is a coming at ya!
Remakes : Hellraiser,Scanners,Children of the Corn and American Werewolf In London...all un-needed and who actually wants these movies remade besides greedy Hollyweird execs?
I thought the current hot trend in Hollyweird was Emo teen vampires.

Macabre Classic Comic Covers

Tomb Of Ligeia
Dell comics adaption of the classic AIP "Poe" film directed by Roger Corman and starring Vincent Price. Filmed on location in England and with a subtle performance by Price, it's one of my favorite films.

Famous Monsters Of Filmland

Famous Monsters of Filmland is back and at this web site : http://www.famousmonstersoffilmland.com/

FM and Uncle Forry are the inspiration of the Macabre Drive-In Theater (and many other Horror movie web sites i'm sure). Glad to see it back and hope it's as much fun as Forry's version.

Too bad Forry isn't here to see it...or is he? *cue spooky music*

Carnival Of Souls

Here at the Macabre, Carnival of Souls in our humble and spooky opinion is one of the spookiest films ever. Made on a tight low budget in the 60's and in black & white (remember when low budget films were made in B&W because it was so much cheaper than color? Try to buy some B&W film stock these days!) it gave the film an other worldly feel (not un-like Night of the Living Dead and i bet George Romero watched Carnival a few times).
The film on a double bill NOTLD is perfect for a Halloween night's viewing.

100

100th post and right now probably last post, not getting any feedback online here at the Macabre or behind the scenes. I was hoping for material from someone close to me but she seems to have moved on. Lack of more followers after 3 months is discouraging to say the least.
I hope the few who have visited the Macabre have enjoyed it and thank you.

Mummy's The Word

It might go all quiet here for a few days, i've run out of ideas (well i have some but want to use them for Spooktober). So to all the vast audience and loyal fans of Macabre i promise to try harder for some good spooky fun for September but right now i'm just twiddling my thumbs here at the old Drive-In.

Classic Horror Teams

Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
The Black Cat (1934)
When the duo started doing films together Bela was the big star of the team,by the end of the 30's Boris was the bigger star and sadly Bela's parts got smaller and little more than cameos.
They worked well together.

September

Uncle Fester can't wait for Halloween and nether can we here at the Macabre, it's our favorite holiday and time of the year. I'm trying to think of a plan for a whole month of Halloween for Spooktober, this will be the first Halloween for the Macabre Drive-in Theater blog so we want it to be special.
Thinking of a month long monster movie fest and a daily Halloween themed post. I do hope you'll join us here at the Macabre for the fun.
